2026 Pediatric Care Innovation Award Now Open

Advancing Care for Every Child at Every Stage.

2026 Pediatric Care Innovation Award badge

The 2026 Pediatric Care Innovation Award is now open for entries. This new HealthTechNode award recognizes technologies, devices, platforms, and care models designed to improve health outcomes and care experiences for infants, children, and adolescents.

Pediatric patients have distinct clinical, developmental, safety, and communication needs. Their care often requires close coordination among clinicians, specialists, parents, caregivers, schools, and community support systems. The technologies serving this population must work across those relationships while remaining practical, accessible, and appropriate for each stage of development.

The Pediatric Care Innovation Award was created to recognize the organizations addressing those challenges with solutions designed specifically for children and the people supporting their care.

Why Pediatric Innovation Requires Dedicated Recognition

Children are not simply smaller adult patients. Their anatomy, physiology, developmental stages, communication abilities, treatment needs, and relationships with caregivers can all affect how healthcare solutions must be designed and delivered.

A device that works well for an adult may not be suitable for a growing child. A patient platform may need to serve both the child and a parent or caregiver. A remote monitoring solution may need to account for changing baselines, different clinical thresholds, and use across the home, school, clinic, and hospital. Even the strongest technology can fall short if it creates additional burden for families or does not fit naturally into pediatric workflows.

Meaningful pediatric innovation responds to these realities. It can help identify health concerns earlier, make treatment less disruptive, improve communication, support families between appointments, and give care teams better information for making timely decisions.

This award highlights the organizations building those solutions and advancing a more responsive, connected, and child-centered approach to healthcare.

What This Award Recognizes

The Pediatric Care Innovation Award is intentionally broad enough to recognize meaningful progress across the pediatric healthcare ecosystem. Eligible entries may include:

  • Pediatric medical devices designed around the anatomy, safety, comfort, or developmental needs of children
  • Diagnostic and screening technologies supporting earlier or more accurate identification of pediatric conditions
  • Digital health platforms created for children, adolescents, parents, or caregivers
  • Remote patient monitoring and connected-care technologies supporting care beyond the clinic
  • Therapeutic technologies, digital therapeutics, and treatment-support platforms
  • Mental and behavioral health solutions serving children, adolescents, and families
  • Tools supporting neonatal care, complex pediatric conditions, chronic disease management, or rehabilitation
  • Care coordination, patient navigation, scheduling, communication, or family-engagement platforms
  • Technologies improving medication management, adherence, education, or follow-up care
  • Solutions helping pediatric clinicians and care teams deliver safer, more efficient, and more personalized care

Entries do not need to fit neatly within one technology type. HealthTechNode is looking for solutions that address a meaningful pediatric need and demonstrate a clear connection between the innovation and the care of children or adolescents.

Who Should Enter

The award is open to organizations worldwide working across pediatric health and healthcare technology, including:

  • Established health technology and medical device companies
  • Startups developing pediatric-specific products, services, or care models
  • Hospitals, health systems, clinics, and pediatric innovation teams
  • Digital health, diagnostics, therapeutic, and remote-care companies
  • Research organizations and commercialization teams bringing pediatric innovations into practical use
  • Organizations demonstrating measurable improvements in pediatric access, safety, outcomes, experience, or care quality

Eligible entries should highlight work developed, released, updated, or significantly advanced during the 2026 calendar year.

What Strong Entries Should Demonstrate

The strongest submissions will do more than describe a promising idea. They will clearly explain the pediatric problem being addressed, why the solution is meaningfully different, and what evidence supports its value.

Entries will be evaluated using HealthTechNode’s standard judging framework:

  • Innovation: How novel, differentiated, and category-advancing is the solution? Judges will consider whether the entry introduces meaningful new capabilities, methods, technologies, or care approaches.
  • Category fit: How directly does the solution address the needs of pediatric patients, families, providers, or care environments? The pediatric application should be central to the entry rather than incidental.
  • Evidence strength: How well are the submission’s claims supported? Relevant evidence may include clinical validation, measurable outcomes, adoption, regulatory milestones, commercialization progress, implementation results, or credible third-party support.
  • Real-world usability: How practical is the solution in actual pediatric care? Judges will consider workflow fit, safety, implementation burden, training needs, scalability, and usability for patients, caregivers, and providers.

A highly innovative concept will not automatically outweigh weak evidence. Likewise, a well-established product should still demonstrate meaningful differentiation and a strong connection to pediatric care.

Entry Schedule

  • Entries Open: October 13, 2026
  • Early Bird Deadline: November 6, 2026
  • Final Entry Deadline: December 4, 2026
  • Winners Announced: December 14, 2026

Entry Fees

  • Early Bird Entry: $395
  • Regular Entry: $495

What to Include in Your Submission

Applicants should provide enough detail for judges to understand the pediatric need, the solution, and the strength of the supporting evidence. A complete submission should include:

  • A concise narrative explaining the pediatric care challenge and how the solution addresses it
  • Evidence of outcomes, adoption, clinical value, usability, safety, caregiver benefit, or workflow improvement
  • A technical overview of the device, platform, care model, integrations, or delivery approach
  • Product images, screenshots, workflows, diagrams, or other supporting visuals
  • Relevant case studies, research, clinical validation, testimonials, implementation results, or press coverage

Applicants should make the connection to pediatric care explicit. Judges should not have to infer why the innovation belongs in this category or how it improves care for children and families.

Why Apply

Winning the Pediatric Care Innovation Award provides independent recognition of your organization’s contribution to children’s health. It can help communicate the value of your work to providers, health systems, families, partners, investors, and other healthcare stakeholders.

Winners receive:

  • Recognition as a leader in pediatric care innovation
  • Third-party validation of the solution’s value and healthcare relevance
  • A dedicated HealthTechNode winners page and supporting newsroom coverage
  • Official winner badges and digital assets for marketing, PR, sales, and brand communications
  • Inclusion in the HealthTechNode winners archive as a lasting record of the achievement

If your organization is helping children receive safer, more accessible, more effective, or more compassionate care, this is an opportunity to earn recognition for that impact.
