The 2026 HealthTech Startup of the Year Award recognizes an emerging company demonstrating exceptional innovation, momentum, execution, and potential within health technology.

This category celebrates startups that are challenging established approaches, addressing important healthcare needs, and building solutions with the potential to create lasting industry impact. The winning company should demonstrate more than a promising idea. It should show meaningful progress in turning its vision into a credible and valuable health technology business.

Entrants may be at an early or growth stage, but they should clearly explain what the company accomplished during 2026 and why those achievements distinguish it from other emerging organizations.

What This Award Recognizes

This award recognizes startup excellence across innovation, company development, market progress, and healthcare impact. Strong entries will demonstrate how the company advanced its technology and organization during the 2026 calendar year.

• An original product, platform, service, or business model addressing a meaningful healthcare need
• Strong progress in product development, validation, commercialization, or implementation
• Evidence of customer, provider, patient, partner, or investor interest
• Meaningful milestones achieved during 2026
• A capable leadership team with a clear and credible vision
• Potential to influence healthcare delivery, access, outcomes, research, or operations

Who Should Apply?

This category is open to emerging health technology companies operating anywhere in the world. Eligible entrants may include:

• Early-stage and growth-stage health technology startups
• Digital health and virtual care companies
• Medical device and diagnostic startups
• Artificial intelligence and healthcare data companies
• Patient engagement and healthcare experience platforms
• Life sciences and clinical research technology startups
• Healthcare infrastructure, security, and interoperability companies
• University spinouts, founder-led ventures, and newly commercialized technologies

Startups may enter directly or be submitted by an authorized representative, agency, investor, accelerator, communications partner, or member of the company’s leadership team.

What Judges Will Look For

Entries will be evaluated based on the startup’s progress, differentiation, execution, evidence, and future potential. Judges will consider:

• Innovation: The originality and significance of the startup’s technology, product, service, or business model
• Problem significance: The importance of the healthcare challenge the company is addressing
• Execution: The company’s ability to advance its idea through development, validation, implementation, or commercialization
• Momentum: Evidence of growth, adoption, partnerships, funding, regulatory progress, research, or other meaningful milestones
• Impact: Demonstrated or clearly supported potential to improve healthcare outcomes, access, efficiency, quality, or experience
• Future potential: The strength of the company’s vision and its opportunity to achieve broader or sustained impact

Eligibility

• Open to emerging health technology companies worldwide
• Entrants should be operating as startups or growth-stage companies during the 2026 calendar year
• The company must offer a technology, product, platform, service, or business model with a clear healthcare application
• The entry must highlight progress, achievements, or impact from 2026
• Pre-revenue companies may enter when they can demonstrate meaningful development, validation, research, regulatory, pilot, or partnership progress
• Supporting results should be accurate and attributable to the entering company

What to Include in Your Entry

Entrants should provide a focused account of the startup’s purpose, progress, and distinguishing achievements during 2026. Submissions should include:

• An overview of the company, its mission, and the healthcare need it addresses
• A description of the startup’s technology, product, platform, service, or business model
• An explanation of what differentiates the company from existing approaches or competitors
• Important development, launch, regulatory, funding, partnership, or growth milestones from 2026
• Evidence of adoption, validation, customer interest, patient impact, or commercial progress
• Supporting links, demonstrations, research, reports, case studies, or customer examples
